Le projet PSYCHICOLD est né en juin 1997 à Toulouse.
L'initiateur en est Fred RAJA. Seul face à un vieux Macintosh,
une des premières versions de Cubase, un vieux DX7, et un sampler S950.
Il compose une electro minimaliste inspirée par les premiers albums
de PLASTIC NOISE EXPERIENCE, KLINIK, LEATHER STRIP, CALVA Y NADA...
Le premier résultat de son travail se traduit par la demo en trois K7
"THE PAIN" en 1998.

PSYCHICOLD is born in june 1997 in Toulouse (France),
At the origine is Fred RAJA, alone faced with an old macintosh and one
of the first version of Cubase, a DX7 and a S950 sampler.
He composes a minimalist electro inspired by the first albums of
PLASTIC NOISE EXPERIENCE, KLINIK, LEATHER STRIP,CALVA Y NADA...
The first result is translated by the first demo in three tapes"the pain" in 1998.

Après quelques mois de travail et l'acquisition d'un norlead 2 et d'un sampleur S2000,
vint l'enregistrement du maxi "DAS DRITTE AUGE" dans le studio d'Autumn prod
En 1999, le maxi 4 titres autoproduit à 500 exemplaires"DAS DRITTE AUGE" voit le jour,
avec des textes signés par Arnaud SPITZ (chanteur du groupe gothique Modern funeral art).
La musique de Fred évolue rapidement après cette première expérience studio.

 

After some working months and acquisition of a nord rack 2 and a S2000 sampler
came the recording of the maxi cd "das dritte auge" in the Autumn prod studio
(France) in 1999.
4 titles autoproduce in 500 copies come into the world with lyrics signed
by Arnaud SPITZ (Modern funeral art).
PSYCHICOLD 's music evolves fast after this first recording experience in studio.

 

Commença alors la composition de l'album "INNER CHAOS",
inspiré principalement par les films de LYNCH, CRONENBERG, CARPENTER,
ainsi que tous les univers sombres, glauques, froids et décalés.
C'est alors qu'il rencontre Esther CANDAES qui intégre le groupe
en tant que 2ème chant en juillet 2000.
La nouvelle formation retravaille les anciens morceaux,
et PSYCHICOLD se produit pour la premiere fois en live
à la Tragedia dell'arte à Montpellier en décembre 2000,
puis à Rennes en juin 2001.
C'est par la suite que le groupe enregistre l'album "INNER CHAOS".
Après des mois de travail, l'album voit le jour.
Le son de PSYCHICOLD a profondément évolué,
et le titre "Electroshock" remporte un réel succès.

 

The composition of the album "inner chaos", inspired by in most cases
by the movies of LYNCH, CARPENTER,CRONENBERG, as well as all brought
forwardand dark, squalid, cold words began then.
After the meet with Esther CANDAES who integrates the project as second
sing in july 2000.
The new line-up revises the ancient songs and PSYCHICOLD plays live for
the first time at " la trajedia dell arte" ( Monpellier,France) in
december 2000, then in Rennes (France) in june 2001.
Then starts the recording of the album "inner chaos".

After some working months the album comes into the world.
The sound of PSYCHICOLD has profoundly evolved and the title " Electroshock"
is a real succes.

 

 

Après quelques concerts dans le nord et le sud-est de la France,
le groupe doit momentanément stopper les concerts,
l'emploi du temps d'Esther ne lui permettant plus de travailler
que ponctuellement sur le projet.
Le groupe connaîtra alors une longue phase d'attente,
pendant laquelle Fred se consacrera à la composition du nouvel album de PSYCHICOLD,
puis au projet industriel PSYKOLD
(dont un morceau figure sur la compilation "Trees on oscillation vol2")
et enfin, au nouveau projet electro gothique AMIOTIK,
beaucoup plus personnel et orienté vers la poésie et le romantisme noir.
Après un séjour de deux ans à Londres où il finalisa la composition et
l'enregistrement du chant d'AMIOTIK,
Fred revint en France où il travailla sur l'enregistrement des guitares avec
Erika AMALAHOUCH et le mastering de la demo avec VX69 ( PUNISH YOURSELF ).
Puis réenregistrement, mixage et édition PROTOOLS des pistes guitares définitives
par Thomas HILBERT.(Tomnanbule),
sortie fin mai 2008 de l'album d'AMIOTIK.
suivi du nouvel album de PSYCHICOLD en cours d'enregistrement.

 

After some lives in the north and southeast of France,
the band must momentarily stop.
Esther's timetable not allowing her any more to work that
ponctually on the project.
The band will now a long stage of wait then, during who fred
will dedicate himself to the new album work...
Then in the indusrial project PSYKOLD (a title which appears on the compilation
"trees on oscillation vol2").
And finally in the gothic, dark wave project AMIOTIK much more personnal and oriented
to poetry and dark romanticism.
After a stay of two years in London where fred finalized AMIOTIK's voices recording.
He came back in france where he worked on guitars recording with Erika AMALAHOUCH
and a first demo mastered by VX69.
Then second guitars played, recorded, mixed (protools edition) by Thomas HILBERT (Tomnanbule).
AMIOTIK's cd out in may 2008.
A new PSYCHICOLD's album is in progress at the moment.
